ABOUT THIS EVENT:
This is the second workshop of the series designed to equip school with best practices in establishing a positive working relationship with local authorizers focused on the students and communities you serve. A significant portion of this workshop will provide insight to establishing a system for the collection of quality evidence for use in oversight, and navigating difficult and unforeseen inquiries (ie. “notices”) from your authorizer which may jeopardize your good standing and upcoming charter renewal.
The current political climate poses a unique threat to the relationship between charter schools and district authorized. Pending legislation at the state level has created an environment where charters are concerned about the lack of transparency and evaluation during annual oversight.
This workshop is designed to provide charters with information on best practices in preparation for oversight, addressing concerns going into/as a result of the visit, and how to handle challenging situations with local authorizes.
